The global patient care model (Tanguiéta model) developed by Dr Rochat is now a priority for Fistula Group. It is intended to be deployed in other regions of Africa, especially in Madagascar where the fistula remains a real scourge.
This training mission on obstetric fistulas was carried out at the request of SALFA, an organization which brings together ten Lutheran hospitals in Madagascar and 40 health units.
These two weeks of training and interventions were part of the celebration of SALFA’s 40th anniversary, Dr Rochat’s arrival in Tananarive having been timed to allow him to participate.
